Aug 25: Million Dollar (CO) Hwy Loop, Fall Ride Plans, Challenge Update!

This week we wanted to highlight another one of our loops that features a popular road, the Million Dollar Highway.

The Million Dollar Highway Loop is an amazing ride in Southwest Colorado. Drive with care as this is a mountain road with hairpin curves and dangerous dropoffs. So, use caution and enjoy the magnificent scenery. The origin of the name Million Dollar Highway is disputed. There are several legends, though, including that it cost a million dollars a mile to build it, and that its fill dirt contains a million dollars in gold ore.

The first time you drive it, it can be a real breath taker. There are sheer drops virtually along the entire route and enough hairpins to make a whirling dervish dizzy. This road is famous for its stunning view and lack of guard rails.

Fall Riding Plans:

We have had a great riding season so far, and we still have a few more trips planned.

One of the trips we have planned is a return to the Ozarks! We are going to be riding some of our loops near Jefferson City, MO. There are 5 loops in that area to choose from, and we we have the time, we will try to ride all 5!

Here are the routes we will be near (Click on the name for more information):

We are hoping to have some great rides and see the amazing colors!

We would love to hear about your riding plans for the rest of this year. Let us know if you have any questions or need some help with your plans!!

Driftless Challenge:

With less than 1 week in the August Driftless Challenge, we have a bunch of great entries. However, there is still time to enter (and maybe win)!

Note: the last picture is not an entry, it is a previous winner displaying his prize!

Click Here to find out how to enter!

Safe Travels!!
