The Jefferson City East Loop is located in Central Missouri between Saint Louis and Jefferson City.
Starting in Jefferson City, near the State Capitol, this route quickly crosses the Missouri River and follows the river downstream towards Hermann. This portion of the route sits on the gap between the hills and farmland along the Missouri River. There are big sweeping curves in the beginning and tighter curves in the hills as it approaches Hermann.
From Hermann, the landscape turns to rolling hills and the road becomes one long stretch of twists and turns. The path angles South and slowly descends to follow Holte Creek near Highway 50. From Highway 50, this loop continues South along the hilltops and valleys all the way to Owensville.
At Owensville the ride is only half over and the path turns back North towards Jefferson City and more fun roads. Instead of heading straight back, this loop takes riders to the South side of the Missouri River to explore some of the fun roads in that area. After passing through Chamois and and Bonnots Mill, this trip returns to Jefferson City.
