The Wabasha Cannon Route explores hills and valleys along the Mississippi River between Wabasha and Red Wing, Minnesota. From Red Wing the route turns away from the river and explores the various hills and valleys leading to Cannon Falls. The middle of the route is marked by a wide flat area. We managed to minimize your ride in that area by dropping down to West Concord and following the ridges and valleys back through Mazeppa to Wabasha. In addition to the views and attractions along the river, many of the small towns and villages have local parks and other points of interest. The Wabasha Cannon Route is on the north end of the Driftless Area and fairly close to the Twin Cities. If you are from northeast Minnesota and have the Red Wing Fairbault Route, this should be the next one on your list.
