The Viburnum Potosi Loop is located in Southeast Missouri. Starting in Viburnum, Missouri, this route angles Northwest through the Mark Twain National Forest to Cherryville. From Cherryville, the twisty road dips South for a short distance before turning back North for a fun ride to Steelville. Although the road to Steelville is not in the National Forest, it is still packed with a ton of fun curves!
After leaving Steelville, there is a short stretch of farm fields before riders eventually enter the Mark Twain National Forest again. Here the road becomes twisty again as the route angles back South and East and towards Potosi, MO. Since this stretch of the route is all within the National Forest, the roads are all curvy and hilly.
From Potosi, the route turns back South again for a short ride before turning West again, back into the National Forest for a fun ride back to the starting point in Viburnum.
Although this route does not visit a lot of the larger touristy towns, the ride itself is among the best in Southeast Missouri. The curves are plentiful and there are just enough towns along the way to get gas or refreshments. Be sure to put this ride on your to do list!
