The Taos North Loop is located in Northern New Mexico. This loop begins on the outskirts of Taos and crosses the flat desert before climbing to the Taos Ski Valley. After returning down the same curvy valley, the path turns back North and weaves along the rolling hills to the town of Questa.
After Questa, the road turns East and into the deep canyon along the Red River. After a great twisty ride in the valley, the route arrives at the town of Red River. In the town of Red River, there is another out and back trip further up the valley along the Red River. Upon reaching the top of the valley, the ride returns to Red River.
After reaching Red River the second time, the road turns East for a short run up and over the peaks before descending and turning South for a scenic and curvy ride into Eagles Nest.
Soon, the route turns West for a short, twisty climb up to Palo Flechado Pass. After the pass, the road descends, curving and winding down the long valley onto the plains outside of Taos. From there, it’s just a short ride back to the starting point in Taos.
