The Superior AZ Ride is located in Southeast Arizona just East  of Phoenix.  This ride is actually a combination of 2 different rides; a small loop ride coupled with an out and back ride.

This ride starts in Superior, Arizona and heads through the Tonto National Forest towards Globe, Arizona.  Along the way riders will pass through the New Queen Creek Tunnel as they ride through Queen Creek Canyon, one of the many canyons and passes on the way to Globe.

After leaving Globe, this route starts out on the flat desert floor and gradually climbs up into the hills, adding curves as it progresses.  Eventually riders enter the Gila River Canyon and follows the river into Winkelman, Arizona and then back North past Kearny.

This route eventually leaves the Gila River behind and enters steeper hills and canyons on the way back to Superior.  The loop alone is around 100 miles and 2 riding hours.

The next leg of this ride is an out and back ride to where the pavement ends beyond Tortilla Flat.  Leaving Superior on this leg, the road is a divided highway that winds through the hills to emerge onto the flat desert floor.  This road continues until riders approach Apache Junction.  At that point the route skirts the city and heads back into the hills North of town.

These hills are another section of the Tonto National Forest and the roads are a continuous string of twists and turns as the route makes its way to Canyon Lake and beyond to Tortilla Flat.

Riders can choose to turn around in Tortilla Flat, or continue to the pavement end, roughly 4.5 miles farther.  Upon turning around, this ride follows the same route back to the starting point in Superior.
