The Skyline Drive (Shenandoah NP) Loop is a paved 2 day ride located in Northern Virginia. This ride follows a path through the Shenandoah National Park. Skyline Drive is directly North of, and connects to, the North end of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
As it is a scenic drive, there are several pull offs and stopping points along the entire ride. There is an entry fee to drive Skyline Drive.
Here are the details:
Leg 1: Front Royal to Waynesboro
Starting in Front Royal, this ride follows Skyline Drive Southward through the Shenandoah National Park. There are several pull offs along the way to enjoy the picturesque views. In addition to the pull offs there are several waysides, trailheads, and stopping points that might provide restrooms, but refreshments and gas might not be available.

Estimated Riding Time: 3.5 Hours

Attractions: Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, Many Scenic Pull Offs and Viewpoints, Dickey Ridge Visitor Center, Elkwallow Store, Mary’s Rock Tunnel, Pinnacles Picnic Area, Harry F. Byrd S. Visitor Center, Lewis Mountain Picnic Area, South River Falls Picnic Area, Loft Mountain Wayside.
Leg 2: Waynesboro to Front Royal
This leg of the ride starts at the end of Skyline Drive, just South of Waynesboro, VA. This ride wanders generally northward through small towns and farmlands back toward Front Royal. This route spends a lot of time near the Shenandoah River and goes through the town of Shenandoah.
Along this ride, there are a few civil war memorials and sites listed. In addition to that, there are several more historical sites and monuments close to, but not on the route.
