The Ouachita National Forest Loop is located in the heart of the Ouachita National Forest, West of Little Rock, Arkansas. Starting in Mt. Ida, Arkansas, this route is constantly twisting and turning all the way to the Ouachita River. After crossing the Ouachita River, the road straightens out for a short time, then returns to the forests and hills for more twists and turns.
Eventually this route joins Highway 71 on the way to Waldron. This part of the road is more open and the curves are not as sharp, but they are still fun. Before reaching Waldron, the ride turns back East on Highway 250 which parallels and eventually joins Highway 80.
Highway 80 is a long series of amazing curves and turns that takes riders all the way to Danville, AR. Near Danville, the route turns back South again starting out with a tight hairpin, followed by a series of zig zags. After crossing the valley and the Fourche La Fave River, this route hits another series of tight twisties and then turns East again to follow the South Fourche La Fave River.
Eventually this route turns South on Highway 7 for more twists and turns through another section of the Ouachita National Forest. Near Hot Springs Village, this route turns West again for another trip through Ouachita National Forest and Lake Ouachita on the way back to the starting point at Mt. Ida.
