The Natchez Trace Parkway is a 444-mile recreational road and scenic drive through three states. It roughly follows the "Old Natchez Trace," an historic travel corridor used by American Indians, "Kaintucks," European settlers, slave traders, soldiers, and future presidents.
The Natchez Trace travel corridor has been an avenue of travel, trade, change, conflict, and communication for more than 10,000 years. It is now honored as a designed landscape, making the Natchez Trace the only National Parkway to commemorate an ancient travel route.
Step back into the past as you ride ‘The Trace’. Be sure to the take time to stop and experience the different sites and exhibits along the way to get the full experience.
