The Highlands NC Loop is located in Western North Carolina and Northern South Carolina.

Starting in Highlands, NC, this loop is mainly located in the Nantahala National Forest and so it is almost a constant feed of twists, turns and hills.  Near the start of the ride, this loop takes riders past several waterfalls including the popular Bridal Veil falls.  Be sure to stop for a quick picture!

This loop includes both main roads and smaller side roads that are equally as challenging.  Rounding out the fun, this loop also includes a generous portion of NC-28, ‘The Moonshiner’.

In addition to the great riding in North Carolina, this loop also dips into South Carolina for a short distance, so riders get to experience the great roads in two states!

This section of the Smokey Mountains has a huge number of amazing roads and we have created a number of great loops in this part of the country.  This loop is close to the Tail of the Dragon, the Cherohala Skyway, and Smokey Mountains National Park.  If you are planning an extended trip to this area, be sure to check out some of our other great routes.
