The Elkins WV Loop is located in Northern West Virginia. Starting in Elkins, this route follows the path of the Tygart Valley River West and then North to the town of Belington. Upon leaving Belington, this route climbs to the hilltops and wanders further West along the ridgeline.
After reaching Audra State Park, the road drops into the valley to cross the Middle Fork River and climbs back to the hilltops again. With a short run West, the road turns South to play hide and seek with the Buckhannon River all the way to the town of Buckhannon.
The route passes through Buckhannon and then continues Southwest all the way to Addison. This section of the route is a wide variety of tight curves and big sweepers. There are several elevation changes between high hilltops and deep valleys. There are even a few switchbacks in this section for fun.
After Addison, the route climbs quickly up into the hills again and weaves back East to join up with 219 for the trip back to Elkins.
