In addition to the beautiful bridges, Winterset is the birthplace of John Wayne, so be surer to visit the Duke’s birthplace and separate museum.
This is a dual sport ride because most of the covered bridges are only accessible via gravel roads. Since we decided to designate it a Dual Sport ride, we also included as many Iowa ‘B’ roads as possible.
