The Black Canyon Loop is a beautiful ride in Southwest Colorado in and around Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. This route starts in Montrose, Colorado and heads straight to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. Inside the park are two spur roads that take rides to beautiful overlooks and vistas. Even though the entire park is paved, be aware that the road to Crystal Dam is steep and narrow.
Upon leaving the park this route travels East and upstream to Morrow Point Dam and beyond to cross the Gunnison River at Blue Mesa Reservoir. After crossing the river, the route heads West and hugs the North Side of Black Canyon.
Cross the high plains back to Montrose.
