The Back of the Dragon Loop is a paved ride in Western Virginia. Starting in Tazewell, this ride wastes no time and jumps right into the ‘Back of the Dragon’. This is a 32 mile stretch of motorcycle heaven that keeps riders on their toes with a continuous string of curves and hills.
The fun doesn’t stop after riders finish the Back of the Dragon. The ride continues on and enters the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area for more curves and fun.
Near Damascus, the ride turns North and winds back through the hills and valleys. While this stretch of road doesn’t have a famous name, parts of it are just as amazing as the ‘back of the dragon’.
Eventually this loop turns East and parallels Highway 19 to return to the starting point in Tazewell.
