We know that ever since the Zumo XT2 was introduced, there have been various issues and problems with importing .gpx files (everybody's, not just ours!). Here is what we have discovered:

Ever since the Zumo XT2 was released, we have had a few question come to us about our routes (and other's routes) not importing or displaying correctly in the device.
Importing issues can include errors that say "Can't compute the route" or some other similar message.
Display issues could include: showing points, but no connecting roads; showing the route, but with major, unexpected changes to the path, or other issues.
Generally we have been able to help people to get things working, but it takes a lot of time and frustration on everyone's part. The main source of most the problems seem to be related to how the Zumo interacts with the Garmin Tread App.
If you are having problems with importing or displaying any .gpx files on your zumo XT2, here are some things to try:
Copy the .gpx file directly onto an SD card in the Zumo. This file MUST be copied into a folder labeled "Garmin". You can copy the file by hooking your Garmin to your pc and using a file transfer program. If you are a Basecamp user, you can import the file into Basecamp, then use the Basecamp file transfer process. Another method is to insert the SD card into your computer to complete the transfer and then re-insert it into your Zumo. You might also be able to transfer the file between zumos Bluetooth, but you have to have it working on 1 device to do this. In all cases, the file must be placed into a folder called Garmin. The bottom line with this tip is that you are bypassing the Tread App completely.
Make sure your Zumo has the latest firmware update.
Make sure your Zumo is charged up (the Zumo will not transfer files if the battery is dead or nearly dead).
Make sure that you don't have too many rides loaded into the active (trip planner) memory of your Zumo. While our files are fairly small, it is possible to overload the active memory of the Zumo. This might cause problems importing files into the Trip Planner or in displaying the files to ride. The way to fix this is to DELETE files from the trip planner. This is on the same menu as the import into Trip Planner. When you delete files from the trip planner, they will still be available on either the SD card, or in the zumo's internal memory, so don't be afraid to delete active files.
DO NOT import all. When you have a file or set of files on your sd card and you want to make them active to ride, you have to import them. When you go to import, it will ask you which files you want to import and it also gives you the option to Import All. Do Not Do This! Depending on how many files you have, it could take a very long time and it could fill up and overload the trip planner (see #4 above). We have seen this happen to people using a wide variety of GPS units including the Zumo XT2. If you accidently do this, just delete all of the files (like in #4 above) and start over, importing only the current ride you want.
??? We would like to hear tips and tricks from you. Send us a note or reply in the comments with some things that have worked for you.
In the coming weeks and months we will highlighting various phone apps as well as some exciting new routes.
Safe Travels!
